International Democracy Day - Edit for 2024

The League of Women Voters celebrates International Democracy Day.

Our democratic principles are constantly under threat as our civic space is shrinking and distrust, misinformation and disinformation are growing.
There are unprecedented threats to the freedom
of journalists, media workers, and the press.

In 2023 Democracy Day will focus on the importance of media freedom to democracy, peace, and delivering on the sustainable development goals.
