Arapahoe County Election Judges Needed - Apply Now

Help our democracy thrive: Become an election judge in Arapahoe County!

Every General Election, Arapahoe County hires hundreds of election judges to make free and fair elections possible.

We’re now hiring dedicated, enthusiastic (and fun!) people for multiple roles with various scheduling options. All positions pay competitive wages, and you don’t need to live in Arapahoe County. Training and work begin in late September or mid-October, based on your position.

Vinny Martin has been an election judge since 2017 with his wife, Mary. When anyone asks him why they do it, he responds: “You meet some great people, we’ve made some great friends there over the years… and, when you think about it, you’re getting paid for it, so it’s a win-win.”

Positions include vote center judges, ballot security teams, signature verification, and ballot opening (that’s where you’ll find Vinny and Mary).

To apply: Apply directly on the Arapahoe County Elections office
  website
or call 303-795-4511.

You can also contact your affiliated political party and ask them to include you in the list of eligible judges they send to the Arapahoe County Elections office (this helps us keep an even number of Democrats and Republicans. All election judges work in bipartisan teams.

Know any civic-minded high school juniors or seniors? Arapahoe County Elections also needs student election judges, for Election Day only, to monitor wait times and assist at voter service and polling centers.

Please share the link or phone number above with any 16- or 17-year-olds you know who may be interested.

Douglas County Election Judges Needed - Apply Now

Help our democracy thrive: Become an election judge in Douglas County!

Every General Election, Douglas County hires election judges to make free and fair elections possible.

For more information and to apply, see the Douglas County Elections office
  website
or call 303-660-7444.

Know any civic-minded high school juniors or seniors?
Douglas County Elections also needs student election judges, for Election Day only,
to monitor wait times and assist at voter service and polling centers.

School classroom with students

Based on the League’s commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion, we believe the earlier drafts of the CO State Board of Education's Social Studies Standards Revisions, such as the November 2021 recommendations issued by the History, Culture, Social Contributions, and Civil Government in Education Commission, are more inclusive and representative of all of Colorado’s diverse citizenry now and throughout its history than the June 2022 Final Recommended Revisions. The earlier revisions better honor the intent of HB19-1192 "Inclusion of American Minorities in Teaching Civil Government".
