The League of Women Voters celebrates the anniversary of the 26th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which lowered the voting age to 18 in 1971.

The League of Women Voters works to ensure that 18 year olds are registered to vote and informed about election issues.

In addition, the State of Colorado encourages 16 year olds to register to vote in advance so that, when they turn 18, they are already set up and receive their ballots when eligible to vote.
