in our Arapahoe County Elections, Douglas County Elections,

Colorado Health Insurance Exchange website screen print 2025

NEED HEALTH CARE INSURANCE?
GET DISCOUNTS ONLY AVAILABLE
FROM THE STATE OF COLORADO'S
HEALTH INSURANCE EXCHANGE

The League of Women Voters believes everyone, everywhere deserves access to quality essential health services without suffering financial hardship.

Connect for Health Colorado, our state's official Health Insurance Exchange, is the only place where Colorado residents can qualify for discounts on quality health care insurance based on income.

The 2025 open enrollment period deadline for coverage beginning January 1, 2026 is December 15, 2025.

The open enrollment period deadline for coverage beginning later in 2026 is January 15, 2026.

The Colorado Health Insurance Exchange also has information about Medicaid (Health First Colorado) coverage.

And, finally, the Colorado Health Insurance Exchange has information how to check for a health care insurance financial aid discount when filing your State of Colorado income tax form.

Note: All plans sold on the Colorado Exchange must adhere to the following Affordable Care Act (ACA) requirements:
  • Cover Essential Health Benefits: All plans, across every metal tier (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Catastrophic for eligible individuals), must cover ten essential health benefits, including prescription drugs, mental health care, preventive services, and emergency services.
  • Prohibit Pre-existing Condition Exclusions: Plans cannot deny coverage or charge more based on a person's health status or pre-existing conditions.
  • Adhere to Annual/Lifetime Limits Bans: Plans cannot set a dollar limit on essential health benefits for the lifetime of a person or per year.
  • Provide Financial Assistance Eligibility: The exchange is the only place where Coloradans can access financial assistance, such as premium tax credits and cost-sharing reductions, to lower the cost of comprehensive coverage.
If you buy a plan through Connect for Health Colorado, you can be confident it meets these requirements and offers a full package of benefits.

Shop to compare plans for the lowest-cost quality health insurance coverage on the Colorado Health Insurance Exchange.
