Join Colorado Ceasefire and community members concerned about gun violence to see the film 'The Great Divide' at the SIE Film Center in Denver.
'The Great Divide' is an in-depth look at the origins of violence in America, from its roots in Native American genocide and African American slavery to the modern-day epidemic of mass shootings that has increased in severity over the last 20 years. Every year, almost 40,000 people are killed by guns in America. Each shooting devastates and forever changes the victim’s family and friends.
The film also looks at what it takes to solve this problem and begin to make change. Colorado's passage of the Extreme Risk Protection Orders law is a special focus of the film.
The event includes an interactive panel discussion following the film.

Colorado Ceasefire is the longest-running grassroots gun violence prevention organization in the State of Colorado, comprised of parents, teachers, students, community members, and gun violence survivors who have been working since 2000 to prevent and reduce gun violence in Colorado. Colorado Ceasefire provides education, outreach, and legislative advocacy. Their work makes a difference.
