Featured Community Event: Cobalt "Seeking Justice Reclaiming Joy" Black Maternal Health - 12 PM

About this event

Woman and child Black maternal health

Featured Community Event: Cobalt is hosting a "Seeking Justice Reclaiming Joy" webinar, in conjunction with Sister-to-Sister, Inc. and Colorado Black Women for Political Action, to highlight the realities of pregnancy and childbirth for millions of Black women in the United States.

During Black Maternal Health Week we focus on the issues Black mothers face and how we can advocate for policy change in order to bring about more equitable health care and birth outcomes.

“Even in the face of ongoing challenges, we center joy as a form of resistance and restoration. Black Maternal Health Week reminds us that justice means not only addressing inequities, but ensuring Black families can heal, thrive, and experience the full spectrum of reproductive care with dignity.”
- CO Rep. Junie Joseph, co-sponsor of HB26-1044, a bill requiring measures to improve equity in maternal health. This bill was recently passed in the CO General Assembly. More information on this bill is available
