About this event

October was first declared as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month in 1989. Since then, October has been a time to acknowledge domestic violence survivors and be a voice for its victims.

The League of Women Voters supports measures to prevent and address domestic violence.

For assistance, contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline by phone:
Call 1.800.799.SAFE (7233)
or by text: START to 88788
or read more online on their
  website.

February of each year is National Teen Domestic Violence Awareness Month, an annual observation raising awareness about the specific ways that abuse impacts teen dating relationships. Learn more on the Teen Domestic Violence  website.
