According to the Department of Justice, American Indian and Alaska Native women are missing and murdered at a rate of more than 10 times the national average. Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons Awareness Day is an annual national effort to bring attention to the horrible acts of violence committed against Indigenous people, particularly women and children. Help spread information about the problem.

The League of Women Voters of Colorado works with the League of Women Voters of Wyoming to raise awareness about the problem.
