About this event

The League of Women Voters honors César Chávez on his birthday March 31. Chávez was a respected Latino American labor leader and civil rights activist who fought for the dignity of farm workers. Along with Dolores Huerta, he co-founded the National Farm Workers Association (NFWA), which later merged with the Agricultural Workers Organizing Committee (AWOC) to become the United Farm Workers (UFW).
