LWV Pikes Peak Region Community Conversation - 1 PM

The League of Women Voters of the Pikes Peak Region invites all League members and their guests to Community Conversation - Racial Equity Study SB24-053 in-person and online. Thus event is co-sponsored by the NAACP.

Senate Bill 2024-53 seeks the commissioning of an independent task force to investigate the history of injustices among Black Coloradans in multiple areas including health care, housing, education, the criminal justice system, and the economy.

The goal of the study is to address the racial inequities present throughout Colorado and subsequently address these issues at a governmental level.

This Community Conversation will offer an opportunity to hear about the effect that this study could potentially have on our community.

Panelists include
  • Sade Cooper, CEO of Collaborative Healing Initiative within Communities (CHIC)
  • Dudley Thurmond, Speaker, Author and Community Activist
